Eugene Iliescu

Eugene Iliescu has 30 years experience in the resource sector covering mineral exploration, mine development and mine operations in Australia and overseas.
This experience includes 10 years offshore in the USA, Middle East, North Africa, Eastern Europe and the Pacific Region.
After 10 years in O&G he joined Metana Minerals Exploration Activities in SE Queensland, before joining ACM at Wirralie Gold Mine in North Queensland. He held numerous operational and corporate positions with Ross Mining over a ten period and was involved with the development and operational activities at Wirralie, Yandan, Mt Coolon, Timabrra Gold mines, Spring Hill Project and played a key role as the General Manager for the development of the Gold Ridge Project in the Solomon Islands.
After the takeover of Ross Mining, he remained with Delta Gold until joining Duke Energy Construction team for the development of the Bass Strait Tasmanian Natural Gas Pipeline. The next three years were spent on development of a Geodynamics geothermal project in South Australia.
Eugene also held the position of MD for Ronphos Mine, owned and operated by the Nauru Government, and headed the Environmental Department for National Mining Company and Petrogas LLC in the Middle East.
He has recently been consulting for companies in the Middle East, Australia and the Pacific on business development opportunities and environmental issues. He is currently a Non-Executive Director for Kenex Knowledge Systems and provides marketing consultancy services to Kenex and Middle East entities. An Engineering Surveyor by trade he has a Degree in Social Science and Diploma in OH&S.
