Chris Baker

Non-Executive Chairman                      

Chris BakerChris holds a BSc (Hons) in Mineral Technology (1976), and an MBA (1994) from Otago University. He is a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and a Member of the New Zealand Institute of Directors (IOD).

Chris has over 30 years experience working in Australia and New Zealand in the mining, resource and energy sectors - including base and precious metals and coal - in operations, senior management and at the corporate level.

He is the Managing Director of Saunders Unsworth Ltd, a Wellington based consultancy specialising in the management of public policy issues for its clients. Chris is currently advising and assisting large Corporates and industry sectors in the areas of energy, mining, climate change, corporate strategy and Government relations.

Chris is Chairman of the Coal Association of New Zealand, Executive Chairman of the New Zealand CCS Partnership, a Director of Straterra, the newly formed resource sector association in New Zealand, and a Director of the Canberra based CO2CRC, a world leading fossil fuel technology research organisation.
