Dr Greg Partington
Director of Operations
Dr Greg Partington is another founding director of Auzex and is also the Managing Director of his own company, Kenex Knowledge Systems Ltd, with two partners based in New Zealand, focusing on creating business opportunities in the spatial world.
Greg has twenty-five years experience in the exploration industry in Australia, Pacific Islands and Melanesia where he worked as the exploration manager for Northern Gold and general manager, exploration for Ross Mining NL. He also has seven years experience in developing earth science geographic information system (GIS) databases, recently developing and managing the Epithermal and Mesothermal Gold Projects for Crown Minerals (a division of the New Zealand Ministry of Economic Development) and the Institute of Geological and Nuclear Sciences in New Zealand.
Greg has a PhD. in economic geology from the University of Western Australia, and has expertise in mineral exploration, structural geology, database development and management, spatial analysis of data using GIS, and business management. He also completed the London Business School Accelerated Development Program for business management. He has focussed on gold exploration, but has experience in tin-tantalum deposits and platinum exploration. His research interests include Archaean gold mineralisation, gold mineralisation in relation to granite intrusion, tin and tantalum mineralisation and spatial analysis of exploration data in GIS, using artificial intelligence systems for exploration targeting.
Greg is a member of the Australian Institute of Geologists and the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.
