Directors and Management
The Management team and Board of Directors have significant experience in the Australian and New Zealand mining sectors. This includes greenfields exploration through to resource assessment and mine development. The majority of the Senior Management team attained this experience in their roles as senior operatives with Ross Mining, a leading Australian gold company until it was taken over in 2000.
Specific roles and responsibilities
John Lawton (Managing Director) and Paul Frederiks are primarily responsible for Auzex’s corporate and financial affairs.
Dr Greg Partington and Dr Roger Mustard are responsible for carrying out planned exploration programs and continued business development.
Dr Roger Mustard provides full time management of all technical aspects of the work programs and provides technical expertise in granite systems based on his Ph.D. and other research work. He is responsible for all field based activities and developing new exploration methodologies for granite systems. Trevor Pilcher is involved in the implementation of such work programs.
Eugene Iliescu manages the progression of Auzex Resources from exploration to project development.
John Lawton
Managing Director
John Lawton is the founder of Auzex Resources and supported the Company financially through its early development. Through his private company Peninsula Goldfields Pty Ltd, he retains a major shareholding in the Company.
Dr Greg Partington
Director of Operations
Dr Greg Partington is another founding director of Auzex and is also the Managing Director of his own company, Kenex Knowledge Systems Ltd, with two partners based in New Zealand, focusing on creating business opportunities in the spatial world.
Paul Frederiks
Non-Executive Director & Company Secretary
Paul Frederiks has extensive experience in public company financial and secretarial management with more than 26 years experience in the Australian resources sector.
Chris Baker
Non-Executive Chairman
Chris holds a BSc (Hons) in Mineral Technology (1976), and an MBA (1994) from Otago University. He is a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and a Member of the New Zealand Institute of Directors (IOD).
Eugene Iliescu
Non-Executive Director
Eugene Iliescu has 30 years experience in the resource sector covering mineral exploration, mine development and mine operations in Australia and overseas.
This experience includes 10 years offshore in the USA, Middle East, North Africa, Eastern Europe and the Pacific Region.
Dr Roger Mustard
Chief Geologist
Dr Roger Mustard is a founding shareholder of Auzex. He has 13 years detailed gold exploration experience, primarily within Eastern Australia, and six years research through James Cook University.
A significant portion of his exploration experience (and the subject of his Ph.D. research) was the study of the Timbarra gold deposit in northern New South Wales, and the application of his findings to the understanding of the geology and genesis of intrusion-related gold systems in general.
Trevor Pilcher
Senior Project Geologist
Trevor has over 11 years experience in exploration and mine geology primarily in Eastern Australia and the Northern Territory.
